Two Indian restaurants are put to the test this week by Gordon. One is a small vegetarian restaurant in Bradford whilst the other is one of the biggest establishments in London.
Two Chinese restaurants are put to the test this week by Gordon. One is in Mayfair and is called Kai and it currently is one of only three Chinese restaurants in the UK with a Michelin star. The second restaurant is called Yu and You and it is a family-run Chinese restaurant on the outskirts of Blackburn.
Two traditional British restaurants are put to the test this week by Gordon. The West House in Biddenden, Kent which is run by Graham and Jackie competes against ex-rock drummer Graham’s restaurant.
Two Thai restaurants battle it out this week. Nahm Jim in St Andrews in Scotland and London’s Mango Tree both attempt to impress Gordon and make it through to the next stage of the competition.
At La Garrigue in Edinburgh and Winteringham Fields battle it out this week to be named the best French restaurant and gain a place in the next round of the competition.
Hammersmith restaurant Azou and Moroccan-themed establishment Momo in the heart of London’s West End battle it out this week to be named Britian’s best African themed restaurant and gain a place in the next round of the competition.
Fino in Fitzrovia, Central London competes against Notting Hill’s El Pirata De Tapas to be named the best Spanish restaurant this week and gain a place in the next round of the competition. The second half of this double lengthed episode sees the first four of the semi finalists battling it out for a place in the final.
The best British, French, Indian and North African restaurants battle it out for a place in the final. The second half of this doubled lengthed episode sees the finalists battling it out to be crowned the series champions.

Cheetah Kingdom is a documentary series which follows former cameraman David Houghton, who now works with a team at the Africat Foundation in central Namibia overseeing the conservation of cheetahs and other big cats that live in the area.
The team find themselves facing an emergency when a cheetah begins overheating during a routine health check. Six cheetahs scheduled for release are given their first chance to experience life back in the open.
A young cheetah cub called Quattro needs urgent help after being hit by a car on the road. Back at the foundation, the first five cheetahs are released at the Okonjima Wildlife Reserve.
A five-year-old cheetah called Cyclops ends up leaving the team with quite a challenge when he needs to be captured so that one od his eyes can be looked at. Four-year-old Coco and the other cheetahs are about to spend their first night fending for themselves in the reserve.
Cub Quattro needs some major surgery on a broken leg caused after being hit by a car. One-eyed Cyclops gets the all clear from the team and is released on to the Okonjima Reserve.
The cubs have their hunting skills tested after they have an encounter with an adult warthog and her family. There is concern for five-year-old Cyclops who is finding it hard to hunt following his release.
After a farmer traps an adult female leopard on his property, Dave is called out. Carla gets ready to say goodbye to a pack of hunting dogs that she and Dave have hand-reared.
Dave believes that injured cheetah cub Quattro may have irreparably damaged his broken leg. Cyclops proves that he can survive in the wild after an encounter with a kudu.
Carla has to release four-year-old female cheetah Twiggy onto the reserve. David travels to Windhoek to find out what the future holds for injured cub Quattro.
Frankie is attacked by a leopard and when Dave arrives on the scene he discovers Frankie injured and unconscious. Frankie is taken to a veterinary surgery and Dave is forced to sit and wait as they battle to save Frankie’s life. Quattro is moved in to a new enclosure as he continues with his recovery.
Rescue cheetah Tongs has work carried out on his teeth. Tongs ends up being attacked by her former friends when she is released back into the reserve. Quattro has recovered from his broken leg and he attempts to make some new friends.
The team are worried when five-year-old female cheetah Tongs is not able to make a kill after being released onto the Okonjima Reserve. The team prepares to release a pack of four hunting dogs at the base.
Dave and Carla are hoping cheetah cub Quattro will bond with siblings Spitfire and Hurricane so that they can live in the wild wild as a a group. Dave has his work cut out dealing with a pack of four hunting dogs. Carla catches up with female cheetah Tongs and she hopes that she made a kill following her release.

Actor and comedian Alan Davies grew up in the 1980s, an era when it seemed everything - music, politics, even the bedroom - was being turned into a battlefield.
Packed with archive footage and home videos, this three-part series provides a unique social history of that decade through the prism of Alan Davies’ own teenage experiences. It is a personal journey exploring two interlinked stories spanning the decade: Davies’ own experiences growing up as a teenager in suburban Britain, and the seismic social, cultural and political changes that made the country what it is today.
Alan returns to his Essex roots to rediscover his rebellious schoolboy years. The 80s was the decade when youth culture came into its own and Alan guides viewers through the heroes who defined that rite of passage for him, from brash Americans like tennis star John McEnroe to musicians like Paul Weller, whose raw energy sent shockwaves through suffocating suburbia.
Against a backdrop of mass unemployment and inner city riots, Alan also revisits a Britain of race hatred and class tensions, mods, skinheads and random teenage violence. Alan sets out to confront the leader of the local skinhead gang that terrorised his teenage years, but along the way, he also explores some uncomfortable truths about his own conduct as a teenager.
Casual racism was a fact of everyday life amongst Alan’s school friends in the early 80s, and Alan was no exception. Thirty years on, Davies sets out to track down those who shared or were on the receiving end of his behaviour.
Alan flees the suburbs and discovers a host of political causes to die for - or at least wear the badge for. By the mid-1980s, Thatcher’s Britain was bitterly divided by political debate, and Alan was in the thick of it. He revisits the 80s counterculture of his youth - from animal rights and gay rights to Ban the Bomb and Coal not Dole - and he comes face-to-face with one of the arch-bogeymen of the Left: Norman Tebbitt.
But the 80s was also a confusing time to be an angry young man. Radical feminism was on the march, and as a right-on student Alan found himself navigating a minefield of sexual politics and political correctness.
Alan meets some of the personal heroes who for him defined the political battles of the era, including folk-punk singer Billy Bragg and gay rights activist Sir Ian McKellen. Above all, this is a uniquely personal journey through an era that shaped Alan - and shaped the Britain we live in today.
The final episode in the series charts the end of the 1980s, its legacy and the beginning of Alan’s comedy career.
Alan tracks down some of the inspirational figures who for him defined the era, from Rory Bremner to Neil Kinnock.
In 1988, after four years of studying drama at university, Alan joined the ranks of the unemployed. He traces the beginnings of his desire to perform on stage, and how this eventually propelled him to climb the slippery slope of stand-up comedy. But not the old style comedy of racist, sexist, homophobic gags.
In the 1980s, it sometimes seemed as if comedy, theatre and TV drama were the only opposition that Mrs Thatcher was unable to defeat. She may have had them all in her sights, but the Poll Tax demonstration at the close of the decade hastened the end of her political career, and Alan was there to see it.

Gareth decides that before the boys can learn anything, they need to be excited about school. So his pupils spend the school day outdoors, climbing trees, building their own outdoor classroom, and playing rough and tumble competitive games.
Gareth succeeds in getting the boys excited about being in school, but can he actually get them to learn? His initial challenge is to try and improve their speaking skills, which he attempts by staging a boys versus girls debate competition. Will the boys rise to the challenge?
Choirmaster Gareth Malone teaches in a primary school in Essex for one term. It is a school like many across Britain, with a significant gap between girls' and boys’ achievement in literacy. The first episode saw Gareth and the boys tree-climbing and sharpening their speaking skills with a debate. This time Gareth faces a new mission: to get the boys reading.
Head Chris Thurgood has set Gareth a tough target of improving the boys' reading age and she is unconvinced that his methods are working. When Gareth discovers that one boy has never even set foot in a bookshop, and another spends seven hours a day playing computer games, the magnitude of his task becomes clear. So he decides to stage a reading competition to run alongside the World Cup, and even gets the dads in to help get their boys reading with the lure of a camp-out in the school woodland.
Will Gareth’s efforts be enough to convince the boys to put down their games consoles and pick up a book, and to show the headteacher that there is method to his madness?
Choirmaster Gareth Malone teaches in a primary school in Essex for one term. His mission is to tackle the gap between girls’ and boys’ literacy and his final task is to tackle the boys’ number one enemy - writing. Gareth sets the boys a daunting challenge as he announces that their end-of-year school play is not to be held in the school hall but at the Harlow Playhouse, which seats 400-plus. The boys who groan at writing even a paragraph are going to write the play themselves, and over several weeks he attempts to ensure that each and every boy has written a part of the play and produced a piece of writing they can be proud of. At the same time he is heading towards a crucial test that will determine the success or failure of his time at the school and whether he has met the head teacher’s target of improving the boys’ reading age by six months in just eight weeks. When the results are in, they make fascinating reading.
