Yum Yum, Eat Crow

The Sea Shepherd find the Japanese fleet searching for one of their crew members that fell overboard. Captain Paul Watson orders his crew to stand down — they head back to port. There, a stranger hands the captain a letter filled with a mysterious white powder.

The Unintimidatables

The ship is quarantined in at port and the crew anxiously waits to find out if they have been exposed to anthrax. Later, a crew member quits the campaign.

With a Hook

Surrounded by the Japanese whaling fleet, the Sea Shepherds ready themselves for their biggest day of battle on the campaign. Helicopter pilot Chris Aultman confirms the crew’s fears — all of the whaling vessels are equipped with LRAD weapons.

The Desire to Fling Thing

With low oil and drinking water, and a damaged helicopter, the Sea Shepherds' hunt for the Japanese whaling fleet has been brought to a halt. While on their way back to port, the radar shows two colossal storms that they can’t avoid.

A Bloody Trail

As the Sea Shepherds approach the Nisshin Maru, they are suddenly surrounded by four whaling vessels. Suddenly, one of the Japanese vessels moves in dangerously close, and as the deck crew quickly braces themselves, the ships violently collide.

Zero Hour

The Sea Shepherds refuse to be bullied by the Japanese fleet even though they’re out numbered. The deckhands repel over the side of the ship to assess the damage from the collision and realize that there is a gash in the steel hull and water is pouring in.

Fire in the Sky

This is the first coordinated multi-boat engagement of the campaign and the crews of both ships develop innovative new tactics to harass the whalers.

Vendetta

The Sea Shepherd vessels get caught in a major storm and fear they may lose the Japanese factory vessel. Meanwhile, Pete Bethune analyzes helicopter footage of the Shonan Maru #2 — the Japanese vessel he plans to board.

To the Ends of the Earth

Pete Bethune boards a Japanese whaling vessel under the cover of darkness. As the sun rises over the horizon, he attempts to present himself to the captain. Later, Sea Shepherd volunteers reflect on what they call their most successful campaign yet.

From Pirate to Prisoner

Peter Bethune as he shares his experiences where cameras could not follow — on board the ship that took him into custody, held him for nearly a month on board and led to his detainment in Japan for months.

In 1976 BBC camera crews were invited on board Britain’s best-loved warship, the aircraft carrier Ark Royal, to record what was intended to be her last voyage.

As the Ark Royal sailed for America, the cameras captured a unique record of daily life on board for the officers and ratings, as well as the workings of an operational aircraft carrier with full complement of fighter and bomber aircraft and helicopters.

Sailor remains one of the best series ever made about the Royal Navy as well as providing a historic record of the passing of one of Britain’s greatest fighting ships.

This DVD also includes the BBC follow-up programme - Sailor Eights Years on - revealing the sad fate of the now decrepit Ark Royal in dock and going in search of its crew members to discover how their lives have changed.”

“Sailor was a major BBC television documentary series, first shown in the late 1970s, about life on board the fourth HMS Ark Royal, a British aircraft carrier. It followed the aircraft carrier on a five and a half month deployment to North America in 1976. The series was filmed after the completion of a major refit and coincided with the twenty-first anniversary of the commissioning of the Ark Royal. It is particularly noteworthy for its depiction of fixed-wing aircraft operation in the Royal Navy before its demise in 1980, with the paying off and scrapping of Ark Royal. It shows the Phantom, Buccaneer, Gannet, Sea King and Wessex air group from 809 Naval Air Squadron, 824 Naval Air Squadron, 849 Naval Air Squadron and 892 Naval Air Squadron.

Also profiled are shipboard life,the medical evacuation of a US sailor by Sea King helicopter from the submarine USS Bergall, replenishment at sea operations etc.

Her commanding officer during this deployment was Captain Wilfred Graham. He later became a Flag Officer Portsmouth. The Executive Commander who also featured quite heavily in the series was Commander David Cowling RN.

The theme song was “Sailing” by Rod Stewart. The DVD release uses a different version due to copyright issues. Another memorable sequence in the documentary featured footage of Phantom and Buccaneer aircraft at Vieques weapons range with Shine on You Crazy Diamond by Pink Floyd playing in the background.”
